21 Day Fix (containers)

21 Day Fix (containers) explained

So, to kick of my 6 months, I decided to start with the 21 Day Fix containers. A briefing on this “diet”:

You’re provided with 6 colored containers, each a different measurement for different food groups.

  • Green Container (1 cup) – Veggies
  • Purple Container (1 cup) – Fruits
  • Red Container (3/4 cup) – Proteins
  • Yellow container (1/2 cup) – Carbs
  • Blue Container (1/4 cup) – Healthy fats
  • Orange Container (2 Tbsp) – Seeds, nuts, salad dressings
  • Teaspoon – oils and nut butters

There are some “free” foods including spices and herbs, Mexican hot sauce, lemon, tea and COFFEE (thank baby Jesus) as long as it’s black.

21 Day Fix is a Beachbody program. While they recommend something called Shakeology, which is a “nutrient dense protein shake” to drink while on the program, it’s not required. And since it’s $129 for a 1 month supply, I think I’ll pass. Plus, I’ve tried it before and I’m not a huge fan of the taste or the way it made me feel. It’s completely up to you if you want to give it a whirl 😊

To start, I had to calculate my ideal calories I should be intaking during the program. There’s a formula they give you and my results were:

1,663 calories

You then convert that to containers based on their chart.

I read up on the allowed foods for each container, which you get in the booklet with the program (or you can google honestly) and I’ll be grocery shopping & planning my week in food tonight. Ready for Tuesday start! 💪
