So, you absolutely can dine out on WHOLE30.
And it’s easy.
Don’t let anyone tell you differently… unless they’re shy or rude. If that’s the case, then it probably didn’t work out for them.
Life is busy. Not everyone has time to meal prep. Not everyone has freezer meals ready to pop into the crockpot, and not everyone has time to cook a meal, especially when they’re on the go all day.
I don’t have a typical “regular” job, but I’m busy.
Today, I woke up around 8:45 to get ready for my workout session at my trainer’s house. 🏋🏻♀️💪
She KICKED MY BUTT today.
I thought maybe it was because I hadn’t eaten since my salad yesterday (I also ate a Larabar on my way over), but she made sure to tell me that it was a hard workout, and it’d be hard regardless of what I did or didn’t eat.
So, that happened. My heart was in my throat. I couldn’t breathe. It was great.
After my workout, Matt and I had a recording session, which was recording vocals, aka, all me.
So, we got our coffees and I ate another Larabar. It was an emergency. I was shaking from my workout and so hungry.
The session was great, but long! I was pooped.
We met our friend, Christy for lunch at the Olive Garden. I was nervous about this one.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO EAT AT THE OLIVE GARDEN?! I thought. Well! There’s at least one option out there!
It’s not exciting, but it is unlimited 😉
I ordered a salad with no croutons or dressing. I asked for oil & vinegar on the side.
I also ordered a piece of grilled chicken to put on the salad. It was actually pretty good!
If I could get through looking at warm, buttery breadsticks and cheesy warm Italian entrees, anyone can do it.
We finished up lunch around 4, which is kind of late, but hey! That’s what happens when you’re out and about, but that’s okay.
I read somewhere that “WHOLE30 is what you make it. It’s your WHOLE30. Do what works for you.” I love that. Remind yourself of that. What works for other people is not always going to work for you. Do whatever you can so that in 30 days you can say,
“I did it! I completed it and I feel better than I did 30 days ago.”
That’s what matters.
Now for my favorite part of the day, dinner with the whole family.
8 of us.
6 adults and 2 babies. Our family’s growing. ♥️
This was me over-smiling trying to make her smile. She smiled once the phone was in her hand, not mine (hence the grabbing hand).
I have to admit, the family ordered these amazing pan fried dumplings, scallion pancakes and fried wontons as appetizers. When they came to the table, I could’ve died. They looked so. good. 🥡🥟
Matt and I sipped our water and actually had some of the tea they put at the table. Yum!
For dinner, I ordered the item on the menu called “Steamed with Vegetables“. I chose Chicken & Shrimp and Matt did the same.
And I of course brought my coconut aminos (basically soy free soy sauce). Yup, I’m one of those people 🤷🏻♀️
Dinner came! And look at this!
All for meeeeee!
I got some chili oil on the side and doused it in that and my aminos. This was probably my favorite meal I’ve had in a while. And guess what?!
Totally compliant! And filling!
The night was so much fun. I’m starting to realize I don’t need wine or an abundance of food to enjoy an evening out.
Yes, drinking and eating are both very fun. But is it everything? No.
You can still be social and enjoy yourself while being good to your body and gut. 🙌
Now, it’s 2am and I’m exhausted and can’t wait to sleep in 🤗 Matt and I had a snack before bed of some apple and almond butter… we were just too hungry to go to sleep.
Gotta do whatcha gotta do! 😊
Good night, guys… thanks for reading! ♥️
