It’s true… I babysat for my sister’s little angels tonight aka, my niece and nephew.
I may be biased but they’re the cutest damn kids I’ve ever seen. 👶🏻👶🏼
Braelyn is just about 18 months old and Nicholas is almost 6 weeks old.
I started my day out way too late.
Woke up at 11, stayed in bed until 1, then finally woke up to shower and make food.
I made sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs with spinach and pan fried prosciutto. 😍😍😍
Have this meal and you’ll think you could eat paleo forever.
It took way longer to cook than to eat, but I put on Netflix, turned on the movie “The Gift” (love Jason Bateman) and relaxed.
Matt was at Starbucks catching up with his family, so I had a plate waiting for him when he got home.
We hung out until we had to leave for my sister, Angela’s house, which is 40 minutes away.
We got to Angela’s around 4:15 to receive our instructions about the kids’ routines, what to expect and all that good stuff.
I freaking love those children.
I really got to bond with Nicky tonight. Braelyn and I already have a 🤞 bond, but I finally really got to hang out with Nick.
“Why are you holding him?” She’s thinking while staring at me.
Matt took Braelyn duty, as Nicky was cryin. It was so sad. Apparently he has his fits at the same time every evening! And it just so happened to be when his mommy and daddy left. 🤷🏻♀️
The following 2 hours is why I have more respect for moms and dads than I ever have before.
Nick was crying his head off (seriously- he was purple from crying so hard), Braelyn needed attention (and I wanted to give it to her).
I don’t know what I would’ve done if Matt hadn’t been there. I would’ve just crumbled in a corner.
Braelyn needs dinner, Nick needs to be held.
Braelyn needs a diaper change, Nick needs a diaper change.
Braelyn needs her bottle, Nick needs to be held.
Braelyn needs to go to bed, Nick needs a diaper change.
And so on, and so forth.
Again, I can’t imagine if I had to tackle that on my own tonight.
So. Much. Respect. ♥️🙌 especially to stay at home moms and stay at home dads.
But hey, even if you’re in it together- it’s got to be fuckin hard.
In fact, my sister just started blog where she captures moments like this and how she deals with life as a new mom whilst keeping a happy and healthy relationship with her husband and herself. Go check it out! It’s quite funny if ya ask me.
Once Braelyn went to bed (easy), Nick got a bottle and fell asleep right towards the end.
He was so limp, it was so cute.
I burped him, swaddled him and put him to bed.
Matt went and got Carnitas salads from Chipotle and we watched shitty lifetime movies until my sister and brother in law got home.
Today was a “bloated” day, as WHOLE30 says you’ll have. It’s annoying, but I know it’s only temporary.
All in all it was a fun Saturday, and most definitely an eye opener! 👀 kids are amazing and they’re hard work!
Good night, friends ♥️ thanks for reading!
